Charles Lee “Toad” Lotz, age 90, of Toledo, Oregon passed away on August 22, 2017.
Charles was born in Lewiston, Idaho to William Charles Lotz and Mary Alice (Hughes) on June 22, 1927. He graduated from Kelso High School in 1946. Charles married Laverne Mabel Lotz in Kelso, Washington on October 29, 1949. Together they had four children: Nanci Lee, Steven Wayne, Daniel Lee and David Allen.
During his life, Charles lived in Stevenson and Kelso Washington as well as Toledo and Siletz Oregon. He was a Yeoman Third Class in the U.S. Navy, a Log Truck driver and Mill Wright and Maintenance Planner at Georgia Pacific Pulp and Paper Mill in Toledo, Oregon. He was a member of the BPOE NO. 1664 – Toledo, OR and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
Charles was survived by his sister-in-law Jeannie Lotz of Kelso WA; daughter Nanci Cooper (Mark) of Toledo, OR; son David Lotz (Brenda) of Suffolk, Virginia; grandchildren: Casey Cooper (Gwenn) of Siletz, OR, Chris Cooper (Deena) of Philomath, OR, John Lotz of Suffolk, VA and Ian Lotz of Suffolk, VA; and five great-grandchildren: Shelby, Taylor, Colbie, Piper, Finley.
Charles was preceded in death by his father William C. Lotz; mother Mary Alice Lotz; brother William E. Lotz; wife Laverne Lotz; and two children: Steven Wayne Lotz and Daniel Lee Lotz.
Graveside Services will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Longview Memorial Garden, Longview Washington.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Bateman Funeral Home.
