What to do right after a death occurs outside the home?

At a Care Facility 

If your loved one passes away while under the care of a facility, staff from the facility will contact you and notify appropriate authorities.

At a Hospital

If there has been an accident or emergency and your loved one is at a hospital when they pass, the hospital staff will attempt to contact family and find out the funeral home of choice. The staff will then contact the funeral home. 

Outside of the Home

If the death occurred in the workplace, 911 will be called. The person will be transported to the hospital and the staff there will contact the funeral home to arrange the transfer of care to the funeral home.
