Podcast Trilogy 19: Death and Travel

Published: May 5, 2022

In this podcast, Brian talks about how to take an urn on a plane. A lot has changed with the added security in airports and it is not as simple to take an urn on a plane as it was. Brian addresses the process of how to take an urn on a plane and transport it both nationally and internationally. He also addresses alternative ways to transport an urn, such as shipping an urn through USPS.

Going on a vacation or trip should be a fun and exciting adventure. But the reality is, especially for those with a pre-existing or terminal condition, no one knows when or where they will pass away. So the question to be considered is whether purchasing a travel protection plan would be worthwhile or not.
A travel protection plan is meant to be a way to protect your family against the cost of transporting remains back to your funeral home of choice. In this podcast, Brian explains what a travel protection plan is, why someone would consider purchasing it and what the benefits of having it are. He also addresses how a travel protection plan is different than a preneed and situations that it would be used in.

Whether or not you fund a preneed with a funeral home, having your wishes on file with the funeral home of your choice is always a good idea. This provides your family members and next of kin with a guide on what your final wishes were. In this podcast, Brian talks about the benefits on funding a preneed and different ways to do so. He also talks about ways to self fund a funeral and how that would compare to a fully funded preneed. Brian addresses ways to fund a preneed and how to ensure that the arrangement will follow you if you decide to move away from the town the funeral home is in.
