A simple direct cremation means that there is no visitation or formal ceremony held. After the funeral home receives the decedent into their care, they will work with the family to file a death certificate. Once a cremation authorization is signed and a cremation permit has been filed with the county, the funeral home will proceed with the cremation. The family will then receive the cremated remains in a standard urn.
