What are the benefits of a pre-arrangement?

What are the benefits of a pre-arrangement?

By making a pre-arrangement, it allows you to record all of your final wishes in one place. A copy of your paperwork will be kept at the funeral home so that when the time comes to plan the funeral, your family can be assured they are honoring your choices.

Writing down your wishes before death becomes imminent allows for more time to explore options and discuss those wishes with family members.

While creating a pre-arrangement, you can also complete an appointment of another where you choose who will be in charge of carrying out your wishes. This will make it so you have control over the person in charge of your funeral instead of following the next of kin order.

Some funeral homes allow for partial payment to be made or no payments down on pre-arrangements. While fully funding a pre-arrangement can help to lock in the price of a funeral home today, these other payment options can be more flexible. Other payment options could be assigning a life insurance policy, a trust or an investment account to the arrangement plan.

For those who travel, pre-arrangements can include a travel protection plan. Through the protection plan, the cost of transportation of mortal or cremated remains are covered and facilitated by the emergency services management company, such as International Emergency Assistance (IEA).
