Michael Allen Grooms November 7, 1961 - August 15, 2020 Michael Allen Grooms passed into the welcoming arms of his Savior on August 15, 2020. He was born on Nov. 7, 1961 to Kenneth and Norma Grooms in Concord, California. He and his younger sister Cindy (San Jose, California) were army kids giving him the dream to join the military like his father. But, as a child he suffered a terrible vehicular injury which left him in severe pain the rest of his life thus unable to complete his military pursuit. This never stopped him from pursuing other dreams though like, driving a race car, boxing, plus buying, trading, building, repairing and enjoying motorcycles and boats. But the biggest passion he shared with his father was guns. He had a photographic memory and could tell you every detail of any gun and shoot it accurately as well. He was a retail and building supply store manager and an entrepreneur and opening several gun and motorcycle stores in the Newport area. He met the love of his life Faith Lynette Becker and married her July 7, 1994. They raised a combined family of girls in the Newport/Toledo area. Carolyn Grooms-Vargus (now in Bend, OR), Alycyn Grooms (Martinsville, VA), and Kara Wood-Schroeder (Toledo, OR). Michael's ability to organize his home and family events was a constant source of family amazement. Mike took every family gathering and made it bigger, better and much more memorable than the last. He was known to family, friends and even strangers as a good, decent man that would generously give of his time, talents and money. He deeply loved all of his extended family as his own and his gentle soul was easy to love in return. His grandchildren loved him dearly: Aubrey, Alanna, River, Sierra and Austin and Chastity as did his great-grandkids Ryleigh, Karter and William. He sacrificed for family and did all that he could to love and support them. All were caught up in his quick wit that would just keep on rolling, even when he was in pain, keeping everybody in stitches. He was irreplaceable and will be forever missed until we meet again.
