Timothy Glenn Mann

Timothy Glenn Mann, 68, passed away with great courage and dignity at the Evergreen Hospice House in Albany, Oregon on February 10, 2016, surrounded by loving family. He was born July 26, 1947 at the old Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Oregon to parents Donald Edward Mann and Verna Faye (Ritchie)Mann. He was the oldest of five children. Tim graduated from Eddyville High School in 1965 and went to work for Cascadia Lumber Company in Toledo until it's closure in 1968. After working at Publisher's Paper for many years, he then opened his own small sawmill in Siletz, Oregon, which he ran for approximately ten years. Tim loved making lumber and visiting with many of his customers and the school groups which came to visit. He then worked for Newport Rental and Medical Supply and finished his working career as maintenance person for Lincolnshire Assisted Living in Lincoln City, Oregon. Tim married Patricia Nelson of Toledo on July 22, 1967. They lived in Toledo for many years and then moved to the Siletz area. He is survived by "Patty," their daughter, Tonya, son-in-law Del Casarez and two beautiful grandchildren, Henry and Mali of Junction City, Oregon. Tim is also survived by three sisters, Kathy Johnson, Lincoln City, Donna Johnson, Logsden and Deb (Larry) Sondenaa, Siletz, two sister-in-laws, Bonnie Smith of Missoula, Montana and Karen Sied of Logsden, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Verna Mann, and a brother, Vernon. Tim was a member of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Posse from 1970-1976. He was a Master Gardener and loved to build things from wood in his shop. He loved to hunt, especially birds in Southern Oregon and to fish recreationally in Alaska, but especially to sit around a campfire and tell jokes. One of his greatest joys in life was making other people laugh and smile. A potluck Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Logsden Community Hall, Logsden, Oregon from Noon to 3:00 pm. Please dress casual and come with smiles and stories.
