             Annie Mae Miller of  Yachats, age 83, suddenly passed away at Samaritan Pacific  Communities Hospital in Newport from a massive stroke on Monday, June 4, 2018.  Annie was born on July 16, 1934, to William Robert Scott and Mildred Violet Conway in Brownsville, Oregon. 

         Annie nourished those around her with much love and kindness.  She was known as “Sweet Annie”.   Annie was raised by her aunt and uncle, Ruth and Arthur Conway.   Besides  residing  in  various  locations throughout Oregon, she has also resided in Iowa, Nevada, Washington, and California.  Though  Annie had jobs such as a hairdresser, housekeeper, cannery worker, front desk  attendant or  secretary, her true love was bookkeeping.  She took classes at Southwest  Oregon Community College in Coos Bay.  While in Waldport, she was a tax preparer.  Annie was very involved with her church and the community.  In her spare time, she loved to crochet, sew, and can various foods.  She had much joy spending time with her children, grandchildren,  sister, and friends.

Annie is survived by her daughters Marla Hawley and her husband Dennis Hawley of Newport, Oregon, and Karen Morse of La Pine, Oregon; sons David Conway and his wife Roxy Lee Conway of Salem, Oregon, and Randy Morse of Albany, Oregon;  10 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; her   sister Wilma Knight of Veneta, Oregon;  2 nephews and a niece.

Annie was preceded in death by son Brian Lee Langstaff of Salem,  Oregon; her parents William Robert Scott of Monroe, Oregon, and Mildred Violet Conway of Brownsville, Oregon; and Uncle Arthur Conway and Aunt Ruth Conway of Brownsville, Oregon.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the Alford Cemetery in Harrisburg, Oregon.  Pastor Mike Hale of  Waldport First Baptist Church will be officiating.  Bateman Funeral Home in Newport is handling the funeral arrangements.  Memorial donations may be made to Waldport First Baptist Church.
