Kerry James Kincaid passed away August 6th, 2018 at his home in Waldport, Oregon.  He was born in Fort Bragg, NC  May 26th, 1950 to the late Henry and Clara (Kiefer) Kincaid.  Kerry, along with his 4 siblings, was an army brat and as a youth, moved around the US and overseas, following his father’s military postings.  He graduated from Buena High School in Sierra Vista, AZ in 1968 and married his high school sweetheart Lynn Zaharia with whom he had a son, Chad.  He earned a BA in Management from University of Arizona in Tucson.

Kerry’s career, managing fine jewelry retail, took him and his family across the country many times.  He lived and worked in many places, notably managing Tiffany’s in Kansas City, Hausmann’s on Canal Street in New Orleans, and Zell Bros. in Portland, but regardless of where his travels took him, Oregon was always near to his heart.  Following his divorce in Arizona, Kerry retired to the Oregon Coast and settled into Waldport, Oregon.  Kerry loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, crabbing, beach combing, and hunting for agates.  He was a dog lover, active in the church, and enjoyed joking and telling colorful stories to anyone who would listen.

Kerry is survived by his best friend and fiancé Mary VanderMeiden, his son Chad and his wife Phoebe, and by his grandson Arlo.  He is also survived by his older brother Larry (Candy) of Tucson AZ. Kerry is also survived by Mary’s family whom Kerry considered his own; Melissa (Keith) and grandson Wyatt, Daniel (Deanna), Jamie (Melissa), Timothy, Nancy, Sally, Beverly, and Marti, all of Michigan, and Linda of Santa Rosa CA.  He is preceded in death by his brother John, sister Lynn, and most recently his sister Terri Ann Naughton who passed away 10 days earlier on July 27, 2018.

A memorial will be held at 10am Friday August 17th, 2018 at the Waldport Community Presbyterian Church.  Another service will be held September 1st, 2018 in Sierra Vista, AZ.
