Phyllis Arline Hanna, 83, of Waldport, Oregon, died of natural causes on March 23, 2018 at her home in Waldport.

She was born July 30, 1934 to Orville and Muriel (Metzler) Kaufman in Santa Maria, California; she was the oldest of three daughters.

Phyllis graduated from Santa Maria High School and the University of California at Santa Barbara.  She taught home economics at Sunnyvale High School in Sunnyvale, California.  After three years of teaching, she worked for Trans World Airways for four years and later was a travel agent in Concord, California and San Francisco.  She was a member of the Soroptimist club in Concord and the Daughters of the American Revolution after she moved to Oregon.

She and her future husband, Jerry Bonnell, moved to Oregon in 2004.  They married in November of 2009 in Newport, Oregon.  They have enjoyed RVing through most of the United States.  they have also done a lot of genealogy on both of their families.

Phyllis is predeceased by her parents and sisters, Thelma Hindmarsh of Nipomo, California and Carla Jean Meads of Hermiston, Oregon.  She is also predeceased by her 20 month old son, Douglas Hanna, in 1967, in Concord, California.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry; her daughter Beverly and son in law Don Chaney; son Eric Hanna; grandsons Spencer and Ryan Chaney; two nieces and two nephews.

Due to Jerry's military service, they will both be interred at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, California. There will be no services. Please make memorial donations to the Make a Wish Foundation.
