Rick Len Jordan

March 12th, 1956 – February 1st, 2019

On February 1st, 2019 Rick L. Jordan passed away peacefully at home in the care of hospice. Rick was born to Loren Jordan and Billie Jo Heckathorn March 12th, 1956 in San Francisco, California; they later made their lives in Caldwell, Idaho. Rick was the middle child between his older sister Kathy and younger brother Ron.

At the age of 18, Rick joined the United States Naval Academy at San Diego, California. Rick became an electrician with the U.S. Navy, where he served four years. Rick later returned to Idaho to begin his lifelong career as an electrician. He went on to marry Debbie Sawyer on February 14th, 1980, and was step-father to Jack who was three. Two years later, Rick and Debbie became parents to daughter Lacee.

In 1990, Rick moved his family to the Oregon coast, residing in Newport with the hopes of providing a bright future for his family. Rick went on to work for Doug’s Electric and Western States Electric. Where he eventually retired as a journeyman electrician.

Rick had many hobbies and interests throughout his life, participating in many bowling leagues, playing co-ed and men’s softball leagues summer after summer, and golfing many years until his body wouldn’t allow it any longer. Rick fished for anything he could, and he loved fishing with his daughter. Rick especially loved fishing in the local rivers with his daughter and son in law for fall Chinook, and in recent years, spending his mornings at Newport Steak & Seafood “catching up.”

Rick is survived by his son Jack (Trisha) Long and only grand-daughter Emily of Boise, ID. Daughter, Lacee (Marc) Horton of Depoe Bay, OR. Adopted son Kyler (Rene) of South Beach, OR. Sister Kathy (Doug) Finnesy of Boise, ID. Brother Ron of Caldwell, ID. Ex-wife of 29 years Debbie Jordan of Caldwell, ID. Many nieces & nephews that he adored! Too many friends to count and that he considered family.

Rick was preceded in death by his father Loren Jordan, his mother Billie Jo Jordan and his beloved dog Louie. Along with many aunts and uncles that he loved dearly.

Rick leaves behind a memory of quick wit and sarcasm like no one else. He leaves us with many memories of always willing to help a friend and always making us laugh.

With that I hope that you’re finally free of pain…love, your runt…

“You may be gone from my sight, but you are never gone from my heart…”
