Anne Adamson

Annie (Robinson) Adamson, passed away peacefully, Wednesday morning June 10, 2015. This ended her three year confrontation with breast cancer. Born Anne Louise Robinson on January 1, 1967 in Lakewood, Washington; she was the first baby of the New Year in the Tacoma area. At age three she moved to The Dalles, Oregon. Then in 1971, the family came to Lincoln County and settled into a rural life up the North Beaver Creek Valley. She thrived in the rigors of country life. She grew in skill and joy learning about nature and beauty while she grew up among the fields and trees with her brothers, her country playmates, and always her cousins and kin. She graduated from Newport High School and attended classes at the University of Oregon. She studied dance for 12 years including ballet training at Newport School of Dance, Reed College, and at the University of Oregon. She then studied jazz technique in Newport and in Los Angeles, and became an instructor at Dance! And All That Jazz! She then moved to the Portland area and worked extensively in the hospitality industry while raising her two daughters. In March of 2014, she and David Adamson were married in Lincoln County, Oregon. They were in the process of opening a business here when the cancer was discovered. David became her devoted care giver throughout the rest of her life. Annie's life was enriched by the natural world. She was joyfully active among family and friends and organized many social gatherings, reunions, picnics, games, adventures, and travels. Her spiritual life was deep, inspired by nature and curiosity. She found her faith in many ways and from all sources she explored. She was especially inspired and comforted by voices and songs from the Native American culture. Among her last wishes was to thank all of you, family, friends and the community for the help and support offered during this difficult illness. Your willing hearts and hands, lightened our load and kept us full of love. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Klahr and step-father, Walter Crayton. She is survived by her husband, David Adamson; daughters Nora Sandoval and Nyla (Malone-Robinson) Clark and son-in-law, Nathan Clark; step-son's Aaron and Sam Adamson; father, Tom Robinson and step-mother, Bernadette Robinson; brothers Jeffrey, Jeremy, and Devin Robinson; sister Roseena Robinson; and step-sisters Alura Crayton and Mellisa Powers; grandmother Helen Robinson. She is also survived by many loving family and extended family members including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws who will miss her dearly. A Celebration of Life was held on June 14, 2015 at Café Mundo.
