Bethany Ann Hunt

Bethany Ann (Nurrenbern) Hunt Bethany was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on October 7, 1961. She was the oldest of four girls (and they might say the bossiest). Her Dad changed jobs, so the family moved to Southern California when she was five. Bethany grew up there and graduated from St. Genevieve High School in 1979. She worked at various jobs and went to community college. It took her a while, but she finally graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from San Francisco State University in 1992. She was married for a few years. The marriage didn’t last, but the surname did (Hunt). She worked in Silicon Valley as an executive assistant to a VP at Oracle. It was an exhilarating but stressful job. She liked the fast pace and excitement of it, but the stress became too much. That’s when she sold her condo and moved to Oregon. She’d always wanted to live by the beach (maybe the many beach camping trips she went on as a child made a lasting impression). She lived in Newport, but then purchased a home in Waldport in the early 2000’s. She loved the arts, books, and old movies. She went to Italy for one summer in her early 20’s and loved the history and art that were around every corner. She acted in plays in high school and college and was just wonderful to watch. She also had a beautiful singing voice. She was a member of Mensa (the high IQ group) and was quite proud of that. Although her sisters would always tease her that it didn’t do her any good since she had no common sense! She could be head strong, vain, and impatient, but she was also generous and full of life. She was a ton of fun at a party. She had a strong faith and loved the Catholic traditions. She was a strong supporter of right to life, and loved Pope Benedict. She cared deeply for her family, even though they lived far away. Her mother’s health was always on her mind. She had her personal struggles, but lived life on her own terms. She is preceded in death by her father Leo Joseph, and younger sister Lee Jeannette Sardella. She is survived by her mother Marylee Nurrenbern, her sister Noel Nurrenbern (wife Barbara Sardella), sister Mary Nurrenbern, and her nephew Jim Larrenaga (wife Sara).
