Kenneth Robert Kearney

Kenneth Robert Kearney Jr, 51, of Syracuse, UT and Waldport, OR was taken home on July 26, 2020 near his home in Waldport, OR. He was doing what he loved, in a place he loved. Kenneth was born August 22, 1968 to Kenneth Kearney Sr, and Mary Jane Williams in Passaic, NJ. He met his wife while stationed in Norfolk, VA, in the United States Navy, and they later married in Kennewick, Washington. He was incredible proud to be a father of seven children: two from his first marriage, and five together with his wife and best friend of 27 years. Together they lived in California, Washington, Arizona, Utah, and finally, Waldport Oregon. He served honorably in the United States Navy and is Veteran of the Gulf War. After his discharge in 1993, he worked in the construction trades as he obtained his Degree in Automotive Mechanics from Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington. He worked in the oil and aerospace industry and later, with his wife, started a successful health care agency, which they still operated at the time of his death. He loves classic cars and purchased and restored several cars as time and resources permitted (said he never had both at the same time). He was an enthusiastic fisherman, which drew him to the Oregon coast, and loved the outdoors. When he wasn't up-river with a pole, he could be found in the bay dropping or retrieving crab pots. He was enjoying renovating the family's new home on the river and loved having family and friends visit to enjoy the beauty of the area. He truly knew how to make the most of everyday and was determined to do the things he loved before he was too old to enjoy them. He also loved gardening, kayaking, basketball, and motorcycles. He was a man of few words, but he made them count, and was famous for his sense of humor, and one-liners! He lived and loved big, loud, and unapologetically. He is survived by his loving wife Diedra Kearney, his children; Femmi Clemons (Cassandra Harris), of Denver Colorado, Basile Kearney (Erin Rodriguez), of Las Vegas, Nevada, Dakota Kearney (Hailee Hillmon), of Newport, Oregon, Dawn Kearney, of Syracuse, UT, Trenity Levi (Austin Warhop), of Cedar City, UT, Sandey Kearney (Gracie Geary), of Syracuse, UT, and Kelly Kearney, of Syracuse, UT . He is the proud Grandfather of Malakei, 8, Payton, 8, Cole,7, Londyn, 4, Niala MJ, 6 weeks, and a grandson due in October. He is also survived by his Father, Kenneth Kearney, Sr, and siblings Dawn Kearney (Kevin McCloud), of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kelly Magee, of Torrance, California, Tray Kearney, of Franklin, NJ, and Scott Kearney, of Bremerton, Washington, and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jane Williams. He is a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He loved his family with his giant heart, and will be missed beyond measure. A private Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 11:00am (PST) at the LDS Church in Waldport.
