Patricia Noel Johnson

Patricia Maye Finley Noel-Johnson passed away from natural causes on June 29, 2016 in Newport, Oregon. Patricia was born on August 6, 1938 in Garden City, Kansas to Gerald and Agnes Finley. Pat later attended Washburn University where she met her first husband, Bill Noel. While residing in Topeka Pat and Bill started their family, sons Rick Noel, Mike Noel, and Shawn Noel were all born in Topeka. In 1963, after Bill Noel finished his law degree from Washburn University the family migrated to Oregon finally settling in Newport where they built a beautiful home over-looking Yaquina Bay. Patricia was married to Bill Noel until his accidental death in 1975. She and her sons continued to reside in Newport where Pat worked as an education aide for several years until she married her second husband, Joseph Johnson, in 1978. Combining two families Patricia continued her role as wife, mother and grandmother, worked as the Office Manager at Jim Windell's Dental Clinic, and even built a career in law enforcement with the Lincoln County Oregon Sheriff's department. Patricia was able to retire from her Sheriff's office role and care for her ailing husband for several years until his passing in 2009. Patricia's passions during her life, besides her family, were her activities with the P.E.O. Sisterhood, church activities with St. Stephens Episcopal Church, gardening, sewing, travel, and genealogy. She loved her many pets over the years and spoiled her furry children. Patricia is survived by her children: Rick Noel, Mike Noel, Shawn Noel, Joe Johnson Sr. (Vicky), Dean Johnson (Deb), Diane Johnson-Fuller (Nate); grandchildren: Jennifer Noel-Rozewski (Ki), Nikki Johnson-Fulker (Luc), Aaron Johnson (Sarah), Ashten Rich, Ty Johnson, and Bryce Fuller; as well as four great-grandchildren with the fifth on the way. She is also survived by siblings Robert Finley and Frances Dean Gillian whom continue to reside in Garden City, Kansas as well as other cousins, nieces, and nephews residing in various part of the country. Patricia was always deeply concerned for the well-being of animals and her memory would be honored with direct donations to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter. A celebration of life is planned for a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Bateman Funeral Home.
