Alan Forbes La Porte

Alan Forbes La Porte (78), beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2022 in Waldport, Oregon. Alan was born on September 11, 1943 in Oakland, California to the late Lynn R. and Acenith I. La Porte. He graduated from El Cerrito High School in 1961. He served three years in the U.S. Navy. In 1980 he married Linda Rae Bacon with their 3 children by their side. Alan retired from AT&T in 1999 after more than 33 years of service. He and Linda moved to the beautiful Oregon coast in 2000 where they enjoyed their time together living near the ocean with their dogs. Alan was a woodworking craftsman and enjoyed making furniture and model boats. Alan and Linda served as volunteers for over 10 years with South Lincoln Resources and Meals on Wheels in their community.
Alan is survived by his wife, Linda, of 42 years; daughter Kimberley M. Casteel and son-in-law Robert of Elk Grove, CA; son Robert A. La Porte and daughter-in-law Debby of Foresthill, CA; daughter Trena A. Ingram of Folsom, CA. Alan was the proud grandfather of Brandon J. Arnold, Alexandria R. O’Connor, Matthew R. La Porte and Daniel A. La Porte. Alan is further survived by many loving relatives and friends.
According to Alan’s wishes, no services will be held. The family welcomes donations or volunteering with South Lincoln Resources or Meals on Wheels, in Alan’s name, instead of flowers. http://www.southlincolnresources.org/
