Obituary

Antony "Tony" L. Ingraham
October 20, 1943 – February 24, 2022

Antony "Tony" Lyman Ingraham, 78, of Newport, OR passed away on February 24, 2022 at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital.

He was born in Centralia, WA to Russell and Elaine Ingraham. Growing up, he loved sports, was a high school wrestler and enjoyed baseball and football. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He joined the Army after high school where he received a National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and M-14 Rifle-Marksman badge. After leaving the Army, he stayed in Europe to travel. He particularly loved Germany and even participated in the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain. Tony was also a graduate of Central Washington University.

He met Marie Victor when they both worked in hospitality at the Embarcadero in Newport, Oregon. They were married in 1985. Tony and Marie enjoyed travelling all over the Pacific Northwest, and always seemed to know the history of people, businesses and communities all up and down the Washington and Oregon Coasts. They took in their 3 oldest grandchildren for over a year, and loved staying connected with their grandkids. Grandpa Tony always had jokes and stories to tell, and a jolly laugh that would rival Santa Claus'. Tony loved to go fishing, and worked at places like Cell One, Radio Shack and for Baccus Fine Wines before retiring. Marie, his lovely wife, suddenly passed away of a heart attack on December 28, 2014. He stayed close with Army buddies and many long-time friends. He tried to keep busy, but never fully recovered from losing the love of his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, and his sister Meredith Ann Ingraham. He is survived by his brother and sister in law, Michael & Evelyn Ingraham of Tacoma, WA; his two step-sons: Marc Jacobson of South Beach, OR, and Chris Jacobson of Willamina, OR; six step-grandchildren: Michael Jacobson, Veronica Streater, Holly Clarke, Jamelle Villareal, Justine Lara Rodriguez, Je’Anna Jacobson; and nine great grandchildren: Zuri, Rhett, Fiona, Rafe, Christopher, Mia, Sa’Brina, Sa’Mara and Jakoa.
