Barry Filimoehala-MacCoone

January 31, 1990 ~ March 21, 2021 (age 31)


Barry, 31 years old, was born January 31, 1990 in Orem, Utah. He was the son of Robert F. MacCoone of Seal Rock, OR and Tamara C. Munger of Lebanon, OR.

Barry is survived by his father Robert and his mother, Tamara; his brother Sione Filimoehala and his partner Kaleen and their children, Jada and Niko; His brother Conar MacCoone and his partner Desiree and their son Aidan; his sister Bambi Munger; and his brother Samson Munger. Barry loved his eldest sister, Chrystal Patten who preceded him in death.

Barry passed suddenly in his sleep and returned to be with his Heavenly Father on March 21, 2021 at his home in Seal Rock where he lived with his father, Robert.

Barry loved his family so much, speaking of them every day and praying for them every night. He was proud to be an uncle to his niece and nephews. He loved family gatherings of any kind.

Barry graduated from Newport High School, Class of 2008, and continued to attend the Young Adult Skills (YAS) Program until he was 21 so that he and his best friend/younger brother Conar could leave High School together in 2011. Barry was a member of the Newport High F.I.R.S.T Robotics Club for 8 years and made many longtime friends.

Barry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Barry loved to work with his dad in their woodshop building birdhouses that he designed, and anything else they could think up and build. He has been “Daddy’s Little Shadow” since he was 2 years old.

Barry was autistic with many disabilities, but he always lived his life to the fullest. He loved playing video games like Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda, his favorite shows were Spongebob and Mister Rogers Neighborhood which he would watch with his dad every Sunday morning. He was a true kid at heart. He loved everyone that he met and would never forget them.

Barry will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and anyone else who ever had the blessing of knowing him. He will be buried at Willamette Memorial Park in Millersburg, OR so that he may be with his sister, Chrystal.
