Bud Schaff
May 30, 1929 – April 10, 2022
Bud peacefully passed away at home with his family on April 10th. He was 92 years old, and a long time resident of Toledo.
Bud was born to Frank and Alice (Bell) in Raymond, S.D. He was second born of 6 children, and lived on a grain farm. His first job was a Farm Hand. He graduated from Raymond High School in 1948, serving as Vice President of class of six students.
On January 3, 1951 Bud enlisted in the United States Navy, serving in active duty aboard the USS Philippine Sea CV-47, an aircraft carrier for approximately four years.
Bud married Bonnie in June 1957 and started their family of five children. 1965 relocated the family from Iowa to New York for a position in a start up company known today as U-Haul. His family life included camping trips and Boy Scout Leader.
Deciding to retire in Oregon, he started a wholesale ceramic business creating seagulls and other coastal memorabilia. He was a member of St. John Episcopal Church.
He enjoyed stamp and coin collection and wood turning. His real joy in his later years was a houseful of Grandchildren and Great Grandkids. He was notably an avid supporter of Toledo High School Sports serving on the Booster Committee.
He is predeceased by his wife Bonnie who passed away in 2019. He is survived by children; Stephan Schaff (Toledo), Sue Ann Seils (Matt) (Salem), Sheila Huguley (Albany), Jay Schaff (Toledo) Mary Flatt (Toledo). His siblings; Vivian Klashen (S.D.), Dale Schaff (Iowa), Darwin Schaff (Iowa), Diane Laffette (TX).
He will be greatly missed by all, especially his 9 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at: Toledo Fire Hall, 285 NE Burgess Rd., Toledo, Oregon. May 22, 2022 @ 2:00.
