Deanna Kay Rogers
January 26, 1941 - March 13, 2022
Deanna Kay Rogers was born in Salina, Kansas, on January 26, 1941, to Orville and Violet (Fields) Delano. She passed away peacefully on March 13, 2022, in Newport, Oregon.
When Deanna was in grade school she moved to Albany, Oregon, with her family. She graduated from Albany High School in 1959. While in high school, Deanna met John Rogers and they became high school sweethearts. On November 25, 1960, John and Deanna were married in Albany, Oregon. They moved to Newport in 1961.
Deanna devoted herself to her family and was an active member of the Newport Church of the Nazarene, serving with women’s ministries and teaching Sunday School for many years. Deanna and John went on many fishing and hunting adventures with friends all over the state of Oregon. Deanna was always up to try anything. She enjoyed quilting, reading, knitting, walking on the Bayfront and for 50 years, rarely missed an episode of As the World Turns.
Deanna is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sister. She is survived by her husband, John Rogers; children, Darin (André) Rogers, Angie (Dave) Richcreek; grandchildren, Spencer (Riley) Richcreek, Luke (Makiah) Richcreek; great granddaughter, Blake Richcreek; sister, Shirley Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
Services for Deanna will be Sunday, April 3rd at 2:00 PM at the Church of the Nazarene in Newport, Oregon.
