I said that I would never fall in love again
I thought that I had freed myself, for loving can bring pain

And then I went to Oregon and lost my heart anew
To the savage, beautiful Coastline
To the Oceans lovely blue

To the driftwood, the rocks, the sandy beach
That go down to meet the sea
To the seagulls lonely cry
That tore the heart from me

And further out, the giant black rocks
Rising like giants from the surf
And at their base the lacy spray
No lovelier sight on earth

No wine has ever been bottled
Good enough to drink a toast
To the beauty and the grandeur
Of the lovely Oregon Coast

I saw you and I loved you
I took you to my heart
And now that I’ve gone, I’m lonely
Because we had to part
