Emma Billie Luckini born 1/9/25 to Herb and Rose (Lutz) Stevenson in Norwood, Colo. She passed away peacefully 2/21/21 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Newport, Oregon.
Billie as she was known was loved by all that knew her, a true friend to everyone. She was strong, independent, tough as nails and the most caring, loving person you could know, always there to help- volunteering countless times.
Billie loved their outings with these friends, the fall Eastern Oregon camp out, the men bird hunted as the women rock hounded, they all fished, golfed and had great times at the camp grounds. Back home they spent much of these times with friends at the golf course, Elks lodge, at someone's house for BBQ cookouts. Of her favorite trips was a three month travel trailer drive to Alaska and back, also journey to Ireland, her father's home land.
After graduating high school, Billie moved to Vanport, OR working as a welder on Navy ships during WWII, later moving to San Francisco working as a telephone operator, where she met Robert Luckini on leave from the Navy. They married 11/18/47 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. They remained happily married until his untimely death 9/18/93. They first lived in Lamar, Colo, moving to Scio, Or. in 1951, then moving to Toledo in 1959. Here, they raised five kids, she worked part time at the Lincoln Leader Newspaper, made wedding and birthday cakes also making hand sewn quilts that she always gave away or donated. She was a Lady Elk for 60 years, a member of the Olalla Ladies Golf Club, bowled on two bowling leagues, volunteered at the Aquarium for 20 years, a member of TOPS, a monthly Bunko group and played penuckle every Friday.
Preceding her in death: husband Robert Luckini and son-in-law Wally Potter. She is survived by son Steven Luckini, (Kandi), son David Luckini (Linda), Daughter Patricia Potter (Rod), son Kevin (Kim), 7 grandkids, 12 great grandkids and 7 great great grandkids.
She will be forever loved and greatly missed by all her family and friends.
