Raymond C Nendel, Jr (Buck) passed away at home on January 14th 2020.
He was born in Corvallis Oregon on June 6th 1960, to Raymond & Carol Nendel. The family moved to Waldport in 1962, where he lived for most of his life. Ray graduated from Waldport High School in 1978.
Over the years, Raymond worked in the woods, building roads for Battles Construction. He worked on the Bonneville Dam, on a drudge to help clean up ash from the eruption of the Mt. Saint Helen’s volcano. He also worked at local rock quarries and a grocery store.
Ray enjoyed long distance bike riding, rock hunting, making jewelry with rocks, riding steam engine trains, and exploring Oregon. Playing guitar was a passion of his and singing on worship team at church was something he really enjoyed being a part of.
Ray met Linda in 2011 and they married in 2012. With faith as the center of their marriage, Ray and Linda enjoyed experiencing life together and creating long lasting memories hand in hand. Although he didn’t have kids of his own, after marrying, he quickly gained a family where he enjoyed the title of “Grandpa Ray".
Raymond is survived by his wife, Linda and his older sister Debbra Tatum and extended family.
There will be a memorial service held at the Waldport Foursquare Church Saturday January 25th at 2:00 pm.
